Disaster recovery for a major golf manufacturer
After a spin-off from its parent company, a golf manufacturer had to stand up its own secure network and keep global production running. We designed a disaster recovery site and now manage its network and security around the clock.
The challenge
Becoming independent without stopping production
Spun off from its parent company, the manufacturer needed a secure, fast network of its own to support production. That meant a new network, a security solution and a disaster recovery design that reused existing infrastructure where possible and added new infrastructure where needed. Meanwhile, IT had to keep supporting every part of the business as it separated from the parent.
The company depends on global distribution and manufacturing facilities, and on the network that connects them. It had to protect intellectual property, customer data and its brand against sophisticated attacks and insider threats, on budget, in a short time and with limited staff.
What we did
A disaster recovery site that doubles as production
We started with a present and forward strategic evaluation of where the IT organization stood and where it was headed. The manufacturer then worked with our engineers to design and deploy a disaster recovery site, re-architecting the existing network while it stayed in operation around the clock.
The security strategy protects data moving across the WAN, which keeps the disaster recovery site highly available and ready to run as a production site when needed. Our managed services now cover the manufacturer’s network infrastructure, management and security.
