Professional services

IT professional services for projects that have to land

Our engineers and project managers deliver the infrastructure projects your team does not have time or specialist skills for: assessments, design and architecture, migrations, installations, upgrades and remediation. Each project is planned, documented and handed over cleanly.

  • Engineering and PMO under one team
  • Assessments, migrations, installs and upgrades
  • Security reviewed at every stage

IT project management services

Engineering and project management, working as one

Projects slip when the people doing the work and the people tracking it are in different places. Our project management office works directly with our engineers, so plans reflect how the work will actually be done and risks are raised early.

Every project gets a defined scope, a schedule, a named project manager, regular status updates and a change process. Cutovers are planned in maintenance windows with rollback steps, and you get as-built documentation at the end.

When the project is done, you can run the result yourself or hand it to our 24/7 managed IT services team, which already knows how it was built.

How it works

How a professional services project runs

1

Scope

We agree on goals, constraints and success criteria, and review the current environment before committing to a plan.

2

Plan

Our project manager and engineers produce the design, schedule, risk list and cutover plan for your approval.

3

Deliver

Engineers carry out the work in agreed windows, with testing at each stage and regular status updates.

4

Hand over

You get as-built documentation, runbooks and a walkthrough, plus the option of ongoing managed services.

Case study

Re-architecting a network while it ran around the clock

A golf manufacturer spinning off from its parent company needed a standalone network and disaster recovery design, delivered on budget, in a short time and with limited internal staff.

Our engineers performed a present and forward strategic evaluation, then re-architected the existing network while it stayed in production and deployed a highly available disaster recovery site.

  • A standalone enterprise network with no production shutdown
  • A disaster recovery site that can be enabled within three minutes
  • Ongoing 24/7 managed network and security services

FAQ

Professional IT services questions

IT professional services are project-based engineering and consulting work, such as assessments, design, migrations, installations and upgrades. They differ from managed services, which are ongoing operations under a monthly agreement.

Yes. Every project has a named project manager from our PMO who owns scope, schedule, risk and communication, working alongside the engineers doing the work.

Network installations and refreshes, firewall replacements, cloud and data center migrations, server and storage upgrades, identity projects and remediation of findings from assessments or penetration tests. We focus on infrastructure and security, not software development.

Yes. Many projects are delivered jointly. We agree who owns each task at the start, and we can provide extra engineers through IT staff augmentation if you need hands for longer.

Cost depends on scope, the number of sites and devices, the technologies involved, scheduling constraints such as after-hours work and how much project management is needed. We scope each project and give you a written proposal with phases and milestones.

You receive as-built documentation and runbooks. You can run the environment yourself, or our managed services team can take it over with 24/7 monitoring and management.
